Huishan Lian is an Operations Officer in the Financial Institutions Group (FIG) of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, where she leads IFC's Circular Finance Program in China. She has extensive experience in sustainable finance, with a focus on climate finance, circular finance, agrifinance, and digital financial inclusion. Through innovative financial product design and advisory services, she supports financial institutions in strengthening their capacity to serve the economy to create jobs and advance sustainable development.
In recent years, Ms. Lian and her team have supported the implementation of IFC's first circular finance project in China. She has also contributed to the development of IFC's Harmonized Circular Economy Finance Guidelines and works closely with regulators, industry associations, and financial institutions to promote the practical application of circular finance in China. In addition, she helps share China's experience in circular finance with other developing countries.
Ms. Lian holds a Master's degree in International Political Economy from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
